Both are known as classic disney park treats, but how much do you really know about the Dole Whip and the Citrus Swirl? The Pineapple soft serve known as the Dole Whip actually came after the Citrus Swirl! The Citrus Swirl has been served in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World since the very start in 1971. Originally sponsored by the Florida Citrus Growers, the Sunshine Tree Terrace hosted this unique treat made up of vanilla soft serve and frozen orange juice. It was created just for the Central Florida park. This is also where the Orange Bird originates, and as far as I have found, you can't find a Citrus Swirl anywhere else. The Dole Whip wasn't served in Disneyland until sometime in the 1980s, years after the Dole food company began sponsoring Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. It has since spread to multiple Disney Parks, Resorts, and Hotels across the world, but, the Dole Whip isn't unique to Disney. You can find Dole Whips served at your local Fro-Yo or Ice Cream establishment (in some cases). This is because Dole is the maker of the frozen treat and sells it to various establishments world wide, yet it's treated as the disney classic. That said, Dole Whip is vegan and gluten free, whereas the Citrus Swirl contains dairy. But... that has nothing to do with this poll... it's about taste this week. You tell us! Which is better?
