TPC 2021 Registration Guide (Last Updated 3/7/2021, 3:07 PM ET)

So, you want to host your theme park/resort/theater/other at ThemeParkCon 2021? Well, you've come to the right place!

In this guide, you'll be guided through the Registration process to get your very own booth or panel at this year's convention!

Keep in mind that there are some requirements to register for a booth/panel. Make sure that you meet the following criteria before proceeding-

  • You are the owner/manager of the Creative plot/company that you are registering for, or the owner/manager of that plot/company is OK with you registering for them on their behalf.
  • You plan to open your project in approx. the next 2 years. Please only register for a booth/panel for your project if you are certain you will stick with the project till its completion.
  • You MUST have Discord for communication. Registration requests filled by players without Discord will be rejected. If you do not have Discord but someone else that works on your plot does, have them register for and manage the booth/panel for you.
  • Role play plots, towns, or similar plots are not permitted to register for TPC 2021. It does not fit the theme of the convention. If you are uncertain whether or not your plot counts as a role-play plot, please contact TheWebCon, either in-game or through Discord (@TheWebCon#8423).

For Booth Registration, continue reading. For Panel Registration, please proceed to the bottom of the page.

BOOTH REGISTRATION

OPEN - Booth Registration for TPC 2021 is now open! Please keep in mind that booth construction has not begun yet. Stay tuned to this club for more information on when you will be able to begin building your booth!

A booth is a small space that you can build to represent your Creative plot! It can be about a theme park, theater, resort, hotel, or really whatever you've built! Really good booths provide a nice design, good information about the plot, have information about what is coming next for the plot and how to visit the plot!

Booths will be built and hosted inside SPARK Convention Center this year. They will be specifically built inside the Imagination Hall and Insight Hall. However, it's very important to determine what spot you would like your booth to be in. Every booth is the same size, 5x8 blocks. You can build on the outlines, but not outside of them. Signs and other extra details that are not blocks are allowed to be placed on the exterior walls of the outline, however. The dig limit is 3 blocks below ground level and the height limit is 8 blocks above ground level. There is a clear red concrete indicator placed that represents the maximum underground limit for each available booth space.

This year, booth codes have not been localized to each hall, in an effort to make registration easier. Categories "A" through "F" are for Insight Hall, while categories "W" through "Z" are for Imagination Hall.

If you're interested in getting your very own booth spot, please follow the steps provided below.

  1. Take a look at the Convention Hall Layout for Booth Registration photo (located below). It provides a mock-up of the layout of both convention halls with all available booth locations. Each booth is marked with a box containing a corresponding Booth Code (example- A1). Every booth is the same size, but the placement is different which may affect the booth layout. Booth layouts have been adjusted this year to allow for a more optimal layout, so we highly encourage those who registered in the past for TPC 2020 to please review the new layout before proceeding with registration.
  2. Determine a maximum of 3 booth locations that you'd like to host at. Keep in mind that each player/company will only receive ONE booth, but choose 3 locations that you'd like to host at anyway so if one of your choices are already reserved, we can reserve a different spot that you'd also like. Write these 3 choices down somewhere for future keeping.
  3. Please make sure that your 3 choices are not already reserved by seeing what booth spots have already been taken in the "Current Booth Reservations" section below!
  4. Once you've made sure your booth reservations aren't taken already, you are ready to register! You will now need to fill out and complete the TPC 2021 Booth Registration Form. To access the TPC 2021 Booth Registration Form, click here to be redirected to the topic containing the forms.
  5. Once you've filled out the form, please wait for a confirmation message from Discord. Make sure your DMs are turned to ON.
  6. Once you receive your confirmation message, you'll need to stay tuned to this club for future announcements about booth construction dates. Please stay tuned for more information regarding that on this club!

PANEL REGISTRATION

OPEN - Panel Registration for TPC 2021 is now open!

A panel is a short presentation/show that you can host to represent your Creative plot! It can be about a theme park, theater, resort, hotel, or really whatever you've built! Really good panels provide information about upcoming projects to the plot, announce new information about it, or go in-depth about the design of your project, have information about what is coming next for the plot!

Panels will be hosted inside SPARK Convention Center this year. They will be hosted specifically inside the Passion Ballroom and Integrity Ballroom (photos provided below). However, it's very important to determine what ballroom and time you would like your panel to be hosted at.

Panels will be scheduled in 25-minute blocks. You may end the panel early in that time; however it must conclude at 25 minutes if the panel runs for the total duration of the block. Please keep that in mind. Panels times may not overlap. If you request a panel at the same time and date as someone else, we will go with your next available requested panel time.

However, before we start, there are a few extra requirements and tips for panels that you must meet before registering for one! These requirements are:

  • You need to make sure you can attend your own panel! We understand that conflicts do arise sometimes, but make sure to do your part to reduce the chance of an interruption during/before your panel by letting other people know of your panel date and time ahead of the event. If you scheduled a panel, it's your responsibility to make sure you can attend it. However, if something does come up, let us know and we can reschedule (if possible).
  • While not required, it's recommended to develop an outline of your panel's announcements so you can make all the announcements you need in the 25-minute allocated time slot. Make sure to practice going over your announcements before the actual event to get the pacing right. You can also write out an entire script if you so choose; although it is not required.
  • If you are planning on having other people also host and talk at your panel, make sure they know about the panel date and time before you schedule it, so they can let you know if the time works for them.
  • Come up with an interesting title and description for your panel! After all, you want people to come and see what amazing things you're working on, and a title and description will allow you to do just that!
  • Make sure to promote your panel ahead of time on your company promotional pages, whether that be through the Palace Creative Discord, or another method entirely. We will try our best to let people know about the panels ahead of time, but you need to make sure people can attend.

If you're interested in getting your very own panel, please follow the steps provided below.

  1. Take a look at the Ballroom Reference Photos below. It's important to choose what ballroom your panel will be hosted in. Passion Ballroom contains a red-style color scheme with a wider stage, while Integrity Ballroom is longer in length and covered in purple accents. Remember, before your panel time, you'll be able to style the white banners present inside each ballroom with your own blocks and stands to represent your plot!
  2. Look below at the "Current Panel Reservations" tab. Each night of the convention will host a number of different panels. It's important to find a panel time slot that matches your schedule. Determine a maximum of 3 time that you'd like to host at. Keep in mind that each player/company will only receive ONE panel, but choose 3 times that you'd like to host at anyway so if one of your choices are already reserved by the time we get to your reservation, we can reserve a different time that you'd also like. Write these 3 choices down somewhere for future keeping. Please make sure that your 3 choices are not already reserved by seeing what panels have already been taken in the "Current Panel Reservations" section below!
  3. Determine how you will relay information to your guests! You can either go with the built-in chat feature in Minecraft (using either the role play plugin or general chat), or if you'd like, you can talk to your attendees through Voice Chat on the Palace Discords! It's up to you to determine what method you will use and to let your visitors know which method you will use. (Keep in mind that VCs hosted on third-party Discords not under Palace Network will not be permitted as an acceptable chat method. We recommend using voice channels created on the new Palace Creative Discord should you determine to use a VC method for your panel communication method).
  4. Once you've made sure your panel time reservations aren't taken already, and once you've determined a good chat method, you are ready to register! You will now need to fill out and complete the TPC 2021 Panel Registration Form. To access the TPC 2021 Panel Registration Form, click here to be redirected to the topic containing the forms.
  5. Once you've filled out the form, please wait for a confirmation message from Discord. Make sure your DMs are turned to ON.
  6. You're almost ready! However, keep in mind that you will need to be prepared. Set a reminder for your panel time on your phone or other device, and make sure to be on the Palace Creative server approximately 45 minutes before your scheduled panel time.
